Akbar Sadeghi on Simorgh

Iran Theater- Akbar Sadeghi stated that the combination of performance methods of Iranian drama with Western drama exists in the subconscious mind of the artists, and added that Iranian drama makes the audience more intelligent and active.

This play is produced by Ardabil theater artists, which tells the story of the dispute between Rana and her husband Seyyed Bagher, a tiler, about going from Ardabil to Khalkhal  city during  Iran-Iraq war bombings of  the 1980s

Akbar Sadeghi, the director of the show "Simorgh", said that his show is not directly related to the war: "The story of "Simorgh" begins from during bombing of Ardabil by the Baath regime, Rana, the wife of Seyyed Bagher Kashikar, tries to get her husband out of the city , leave Ardabil and go to Khalkhal with him.

He continued: "Seyed Bagher's wife Rana, like Simorgh, reaches from an earthly point to a mystical point, and this is something that should happen to all people in the path of life."

This artist, who is also an actor in the "Simorgh" show, explianed: " I play three different roles, and among all of them, I like the role called "Shahin Kaftarbaz" very much. I tried to make each of these roles different from the other."

"I tried to use Ta'ziyeh, or better to say, the combination of traditional and modern directing methods and other dramatic elements of the work. The mise-en-scène, costume design, and the use of colors, as well as the stage arrangement, were formed on this basis.
