Motamed Yafee: We have come to Iran to start a joint artistic collaboration
Iran Theater-Motamed Yafee, a young Omani director, emphasized the need for cultural and artistic interactions between Iranian and Omani artists at Mystics International (Sahebdelan) Theater Festival and said that we traveled to Iran to gain experience and start joint cooperation.
The 12th Mystics International (Sahebdelan) Theater Festival is being held in Qazvin province.
Motamed Yafee, the young director of Oman, with Ophir National Theater Group performed the show the halves written by Tariq Hani on June 20.
He said: "The show " The halves " has a philosophical content and refers to the human question about life from the time of creation until now."
The artist added: "This show deals with the conflict about the true meaning of life between the living and the dead, , but it does not receive a convincing answer from either of them. In fact, the answer depends on the mentality of each audience, and in the end, they are the ones who will think and decide to answer this question. "
The director of the show "The halves" explained: "The story of refers to life and arguments between two dead people. One of them is in his small grave, which is the real grave in the cemetery, and the other is in a big grave, which is the world. Each of these people invites the other to what they think is right, but in the end, both of them fail."
This artist said about his familiarity with Iranian culture and art: Before we traveled to Iran, we used to follow many Iranian movies and television works. Iran is one of the largest and most famous countries in the world due to its culture, art and civilization, and watching Iranian shows gives us an incentive for co-production.
He added: We have not only come to Iran to participate in Mystics International (Sahebdelan) Theater Festival, but we are looking to gain experience and interact with the artists of this great country so that we can soon have a co-production in the field of theater both in Iran and in Oman.
In the end, this director said: As the director of the Ophir theater group, I will definitely ask Iranian artists to participate in the Oman Theater Festival, which will be held in the second half of 2023; I will invite and hope that by holding the Sahebdelan Theater Festival in the coming years, we will be able to be present in Iran together with other Omani theater activists and get to know the artists of this land closely.
