The date of Marivan Street Theater Festival announced

The 16th Marivan Street Theater Festival will be held from 3 to 9 October after a one-year hiatus by inviting artists from all over Iran and the world.

Rahman Hoshyari explained: Marivan  Street Theater Festival will hold the 16th edition on October, after a one-year break that happened for the first time.

He continued: Last year, in late August and early September, we published a call for the festival, and about 170 works were sent to the secretariat, which were selected in different sections.

 

The secretary of the 16th Marivan Street Theater Festival explained: "This artistic event will be held in six sections : ritual-traditional, child and adolescent, universal (specially for the disabled), other kind of performance, free and a special section for sacrifice and martyrdom, and the works of all sections will be organized by the same team. The three-member jury has been reviewed and selected the works.

Emphasizing the important feature of the international section of this edition, Hoshyari said: "In the international section of the 16th Marivan Street Theater Festival, we announced of the removal of fees (wages) to international groups, which has been the constant trend of such events, but  we also saw the reception of the groups, especially with the production of works specific to Marivan Street Theater Festival. There are 25 theater groups applying to participate in the international section, and we will have about 11 works from countries such as Mexico, Italy, Mongolia, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Afghanistan, Qatar, and Iraq. Of course, the titles and detailed information will be published separately.

 

He said: 10 directors of international festivals from all over the world have been specially invited, so that by seeing the shows, the conditions for artistic exchange and introduction of the top  Iranian groups to other countries will be provided by these directors.
