Maryam Tavalaei: Man has been abandoned in modernity nowadays

Iran Theater- Maryam Tavalaei, the actress of the "The Little Prince 2023" described it as a postmodern theater and believed that human being has been abandoned in the modern world nowadays, but eventually he will find his inner and human essence.

The play "The Little Prince 2023" directed by Nima Goodarzi  had been on the stage from July 11 to September 1 at the City Theater Complex.

Maryam Tavalaei , one of the actress of this play, said that "The Little Prince 2023" is a postmodern play and a cry of petrification, pain and fatigue in today's modern world, : I have three roles in this play. In the beginning, I am a little prince who encounters flowers and experiences love for the first time. I love the flower with all its pride and self-righteousness.

She continued: Fox is my second role in this show. Fox is wise, cautious and represents people who understand love. The fox teases the little prince, talks about his monotonous life and how tired he is of people. The little prince tames the fox, but this companionship remains unfulfilled.

Referring to her third role in this play, Tavalaie said: "Rhinoceros is the third role. We have four little princes in the show, all of whom are transformed into rhinoceroses. Rhinos are the symbol  of today's society who prefer money and benefit to humanity and follow the footsteps of the global capitalist system.

She continued: Rhinoceros refers to today's man who has abandoned in the modern world, but in the end he finds his inner essence that I am a human being and I will remain human until the end.

She said: "The Little Prince 2023" is a combination of "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and " Rhinoceros" by Eugène Ionesco. These two books along with the study and analysis in the postmodern style were very helpful for playing a role.
