Sheida Khaligh  joins Florian Zeller’s The Father

Iran Theater-Sheida Khaligh joins the cast of Arvand Dashtaray’s "The Father".

A new adaption of Florian Zeller’s The Father has been on stage in Tehran‘s City Theater Complex nowadays and Sheida Khaligh is a new actress who joins the production team.

Shida Khaligh is a talented  stage actress and  had worked with some of famous stage artists. She acted in theaters  like "Pilgrim" by Hamid Amjad, "The Genealogy of Lies and Lonelyness" directed by Sajjad Afsharian, " past continuous " directed by Neda Hengami and "Fall" directed by Nader Borhani-Marand in her career.

She has played roles in movies such as " A Cube of Sugar " by Reza Mirkarimi, " Kissing the Moon-Like Face " by Homayoun Asadian, and "Seven and a half" and "The last birthday" by Navid Mahmoudi.

The show is featuring Reza Kianian, Marene Van Holk, Saeed Changizian, Sogol Khaligh, Behzad Karimi and Parisa Shahvalian.

Arvand Dashtaray is a director and actor, known for The Absent Director (2021).

Florian Zeller’s The Father was considered as "the most acclaimed new play of the last decade" and won several awards and nominations in Paris, London and New York. The play was translated into English by Christopher Hampton.   Zeller directed the 2020 film The Father, starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, which won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, while Hopkins won the Academy Award for Best Actor.
