IRAN THEATER – Sep 22, a press conference took place in the presence of the general director of Culture and Islamic Guidance Office of Kordestan and artistic director of the festival, Mansour Imani, and the festival's executive secretary, Shahram Karami.
"Marivan is a city rich in tourist attraction and natural beauty which make it appropriate for the festival." Imani explained about the reasons of choosing Kordestan to host this event. "In addition we hold it alongside the boundary to demonstrate country's security."
"Founded in 1995, the festival turned to be an annual and national event since 2006. Now the festival has made a name for it self and hosts more troupes. The festival promotes communication between Iranian subcultures." Imani said.
"This round we have added Research section to the festival frame, hence 14 articles were received by secretariat, but the jury merely chose one of them to be published in the festival's bulletin." Karami mentioned. "Poland, Netherland, Iraq and Tajikistan had been also applied for the international section; however, none of their works was so qualified to enter the festival."
"The works have been selected after their public performances in the various cities and 15 productions will finally make their way to the 28th Fadjr International Theater Festival." Karami added at the end.
