Kazem Nazari: With the approval of the National Theater document, the budget problem will be solved

The theater is not in a good condition for the support artists. The drafting of the national theater document of Iran started at the beginning of the 13th government to solve these problems, a document that was written to bring about transformation in the theater.

How far has the writing of the country's national theater document progressed and how much time is left until the end of its approval process?

- The first step of compiling the theater document, defining the framework and topics has been done in different sections, and we are waiting for the next stage because we have considered and designed three stages for the work.

                                                      

The first stage is done in the General Department of Dramatic Arts and in the second stage, this document will be handed over to the elite who are expert in the field of theater to evaluate it. For this purpose and second step, we introduced 6 people to the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Then the document will be made available to the general public of theater artists, this is the final step, which is mostly done for the purpose of information, and if there is an opinion from the side of the artists, we will definitely apply it.

Then the document will be sent to the Supreme Council of Arts, and if this council approves the National Theater document, we will hand it over to the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution for approval.

What is the purpose of compiling this document and what problem is it supposed to solve?

- The National Theater Document is a 20-year vision for the country's theater and compels various institutions to invest in the field of theater, and the most important thing is that the General Department of Dramatic Arts has more than 40 thousand members in different provinces of the country, and the duty of the General Department is to organize all the  stage artists, the general administration is not organizationally capable of handling all these matters unless it becomes a bigger organization.

 

Are you considering an organization like Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs?

 

- Dramatic Art Center is similar to the social security organization that provides a large number of human resources, or the broadcasting organization that has staff in all provinces and is responsible for providing them, even the cinema organization is very supportive of artists throughout the country. And it does not exist in different provinces because the cinema is concentrated in Tehran and is managed from the capital and there is no need for provincial support.

 

For example, we have theater associations all over the country that are responsible for supporting provincial theaters, the cinema organization has the Youth Cinema Association, which operates based on the task of training and amateur production, but we are professional. We are working in provinces and the cities; In a province like Mashhad or Tabriz, we have artists who are good as Tehran artists, they produce and perform shows in every province like the capital, and sometimes we even see that they work much more professionally and creatively than artists from Tehran.
