Red Tulip Theater Festival to add new International section
Iran Theater- Mohammad Yaghotpour, the head of the Khuzestan Dramatic Arts Association, announced that the international playwriting section was added to the Andimeshk Red Tulips Theater Festival, and the theater groups of the Lor ethnic groups from Iraq were invited to participate in this festival.
A meeting was held with the presence of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Deputy Minister, the Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of Khuzestan Province, the representative of Ahvaz in the Islamic Council, the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Khuzestan, the Chairman of the Dramatic Arts Association of the province, and several theater activists regarding the holding of this festival.
Mohammad Yaghotpour said about how to hold the Red Tulips Theater Festival: "The 28th edition of the festival, which is the oldest theater festival in the country after the FITF, will be held from 8 to 11 February 2024 in Andimshek city."
He added: "According to the mutual cooperation agreement signed between the Khuzestan Dramatic Arts Association and the Iraqi Theater Syndicate, so far only Arab theater groups and theater masters of Iran and Iraq have performances. Considering the recent events in the region and the need to emphasize and promote the culture of resistance among nations, the international playwriting section will be added to the Andimeshk Red Tulips Theater Festival in the two sections: Stage Theater and street theater design and idea. The call will be ready in English and Arabic and will be published soon. "
