Behzad Farahani did a staged reading of his new play

Iran Theater- Behzad Farahani, playwright, veteran actor and stage director, read one of his latest plays at the 7th " Playwright’s Voice" meeting and talked with the audience.

The seventh program of the "Playwright's Voice" program, which was about the stage reading and discussion of the play "Badkhim/ Malignant " or "Toys"by Behzad Farahani, was held on Sunday evening, January 6 with the presence of several artists and audience.

Behzad Farahani answered the question of Behzad Sedighi, the director of the program  "Playwright's Voice" that organized by the Association of Playwrights and  Theater Translators of Iran,he asked "how did the idea of writing the play come to your mind?"

Farahani replied: "The play "Malignant" is one of my new works that I wrote with five characters at the suggestion of my artist friend, Ebrahim Makki, a playwright who has been living in France for many years. These days, we are constantly facing death, and the ending of this play is not unrealistic."

Reza Babak explained about Malignant: "It has very positive aspects. His dialogue is good, but there is no place for music in this performance. I felt in some parts, a touch of Hitchcock in the story."

In response to another question about the language of his play, Farahani said: "Lumpenism in the play is in our lives and is not a strange thing. The character of the show is not simply killed, but his death is complex. He is killed by someone who is disabled and has various problems."

Farahani emphasized that he will think about the comments and suggestions of the audience about the work and will consider these comments in the rewriting the play.
