Mahmoud Salari: Mosque theater has its origin in Quran

Iran Theater-Mahmoud Salari, art affair deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance emphasized mosque theater has its root and basis in the Quran, and in this way, sacred arts will reach the society level from mosques.

He  attended the opening ceremony of the first Shabestan National Theater Festival. He cited Dr. Abdolhossein Zarrinkoob 's article on the relationship between art and Islam: " Zarinkoub writes in a part of his article: Who said that in Islam, religion is not compatible with art?" On the contrary, They combine in mosques. Some  old mosques shows that these magnificent buildings that were dedicated to God, regardless of their sanctity and spiritual pleasure, they deserve to be considered galleries of Islamic art from the point of view of a historian.  Muslim architects every beauty saw around him in the past, if he found it in the majesty and glory of God, he would try to use it in the mosque when he had the opportunity. "

Salari added: "The mosque has been the manifestation of all arts throughout history. Unfortunately, with the advent of modernity, art was separated from people's lives. While in the past, art was flowing in people's daily life. Even the water container in which our people drank water was mixed with the art of calligraphy, and on the bowls of water, they wrote "Salaam Bar Salar Shahidan" in calligraphy.

He said: "Shabestan Theater Festival can be a precursor for art and life to come together again. The peak of our art was in the era when art and life were mixed together.”
