Hillah to home Ebrahim Poshtkoohi ‘s"Macbeth Zar"
Iran Theater-Ebrahim Poshtkoohi ‘s"Macbeth Zar" Will take stage at Hillah city at the invitation of The University of Babylon.
The show "Macbeth Zar" written and directed by Ebrahim Poshtkoohi won the grand prize of the 4th Baghdad International Theater Festival on October ,2023.
"Macbeth Zar" was also nominated in the categories of director, female actor and male actor as well.
The University of Babylon is a university located in Babylon, Iraq. It consists of 20 colleges within three compounds, located seven kilometers south of the city of Hillah, in Babylon Province. The campus was originally the Administrative Institute of Babylon.
The play "Macbeth Zar" written and directed by Ebrahim Poshtkuhi is a combination of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" with "Zar" ritual and it has inspired by methods of Kabuki (Japan), Kathakali (India), Butoh (Japan) and Commedia dell'arte (Italy).
This show, which is the 20th production of "T-Took" theater group, has been the selected work in Moscow Nights Festival and appreciated in the Munich Festival. This play has also gone to stage at the Avignon Festival and GITIS International Institute of Russia as well as other festivals in Armenia, Azerbaijan and India.
"Macbeth Zar" was also performed in March and April and May 2o23, in the main hall of City Theater Complex.
