Oscar-nominated director Majid Majidi produces a show

Iran Theater- Iranian filmmaker, Majid Majidi produces “Le Circuit ordinaire” directed by Kiarash Roast.

The show is adaptation of Le Circuit ordinaire by  Jean-Claude Carrière and translated by Asghar Noori.

Jean-Claude Carrière was a French novelist, screenwriter and actor. He received an Academy Award for best short film for co-writing Heureux Anniversaire, and was later conferred an Honorary Oscar in 2014

It’s about a government commissioner's meeting with an informer who is suspected of treason. The accused tries to defend himself by emphasizing his loyalty and true faith towards the government, but these cases have no validity in restoring his dignity.

 

Majid Majidi is an Iranian filmmaker and producer. In his films, Majidi has touched on many themes and genres and has won numerous international awards.

In 1997, Majidi directed Children of Heaven, which was nominated to receive the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Though it lost to the Italian film Life Is Beautiful by Roberto Benigni, Children of Heaven is the first Iranian film to have been nominated by the academy.
 

“Le Circuit ordinaire” is featuring Taha Mohammadi, Mohammad Reza Heydari, Abozar Mousavi Bideli, Shima Khosh eqbal, Mehdi Mousavi, Atieh Shabani and Sana Mirzaei.

“Le Circuit ordinaire” opens at Tehran’s City Theater Complex on April 29.
