A Stage actor and lecturer , Mikael Shahrestani is coming on stage

Iran Theater-Mikael Shahrestani, actor, director and theater lecturer, returns to the stage after many years by appearing in the play "Caligula".
Mikael Shahrestani is an actor, lecturer and theater director whose brilliant performances and presence in the stage in the nineties and 2000s are always remembered by the audience. More than acting, he is busy teaching and working with theater students in recent years.
In response to his lack of stage acting, Shahretani said: "The taste of theater viewers has changed. Classical or serious works that challenge the mind and thought are no longer welcomed . They don't work for the theater anymore."
He went on to say: "For the role of Hamlet, which I played at the age of 29, the audience broke through the doors of the city theater and rushed into a hall that had a capacity of more than 500 people. "Tastes have changed and today's meaningless shows are called theater, which I think is caused by many factors that are too boring to count. Most importantly, I can't believe that the actor of such works overnight turns to shows that are rubbish. I prefer to go on stage every few years and say something that is about the times I live in and the audience will enjoy seeing it and be challenged."
Mikael Shahrestani explains about the motivations that inspired him return to the stage after a long time: "Caligula" is tempting for actor like many powerful dramas in the world, and the struggle and discussion in the work are undoubtedly the necessary reasons to accept it. I always wanted to have a valid reason to go on stage."
At the end, this artist pointed to the circumstances that have made him focus more on teaching and directing: "In an era when the social conditions and the audience no longer pay attentions to valuable works, I think we should encourage the new generation for works and dynamic theater which is has characteristics.”
