The research meeting of Iranian drama and being contemporary was held

Iran Theater-With the participation of Hossein Kiani, Abbas Jamali, Hossein Jamali and Nasser Habibian, a research meeting on Iranian drama and being contemporary was held in the hall of Ostad Nazerzadeh Kermani , Iranshahr Theater

While the director of public relations of Iranshahr Theater hosted this meeting, Hossein Jamali, the writer and stage director, said at the beginning that it seems that many form of Iranian show are inspired by Naqqali: "We recognized Iranian drama as a form of performance in our research. Therefore, we have to go to the originality of our show because this show moves forward according to the knowledge of the audience. When you work based on it, the audience has a part of the information, and with the staging and aesthetics of the Iranian show, the show works. And we see that the Iranian audience communicates with the Iranian show."

The artist added: "Iranian show is a complete system that is categorized based on content and performance techniques."

Referring to being contemporary, he explained: "Being modern is not being contemporary. Modern is something that is considered in relation to the past, but to be contemporary is to be in one's time."

He went on to say:"Now the media has progressed so much and all kinds of dramatic narratives have changed that the narrative methods and techniques of Iranian drama have no place for the audience anymore and should be preserved as a museum. Those methods that Siah -bazi performer uses to laugh and cry can no longer communicate with the audience. These techniques are knowledge that can help the audience to enrich their expressive and narrative capacity, and we should not represent and repeat those methods. The Achilles' heel of the progress of Iranian drama is the emphasis on objective representation, and we must assess the needs to benefit from it.”

Kiani said: "If the solutions to deal with contemporary issues are not analyzed and the situation we are facing is not resolved, this modernization will only happen in words."

Nasser Habibian also said: "We consider the beginning of the modernization of culture, which includes theater and literature, in the Qajar period, which is a kind of history of imitation. The history of imitation began in the middle of the Qajar dynasty and when Akhundzadeh imitated Western playwriting "

Abbas Jamal, writer and theater director emphasized: "Searching, construction and deconstruction puts the artist in a contemporary situation."

This artist continued: "It should be kept in mind that Iranian drama has always had the ability to bring people together, and it has been inherited through people."
