Lahijan street theater festival has an impact on social culture

The jury of the main competition of the 13th Lahijan Citizen Theater Festival emphasized the expansion of this festival: "The Lahijan Citizen Street Theater Festival has gradually expanded and has now become one of the prominent artistic events in the country's cultural calendar."

Ghaemian said: "Lahijan Citizen Theater Festival is one of the important artistic events in the field of street and environmental theater in Iran, which is held with the aim of promoting citizenship culture and issues related to urban life."

 

He went on to say "This festival has played an important role in promoting public awareness about social issues, environment, citizenship rights and urban culture with the help of theater art."

 

The artist explained that the Lahijan Citizen Street Theater Festival is organized by the Lahijan Municipality with support of the Gilan Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance: "From the beginning, the purpose of this festival has been to promote public culture, citizenship and express social issues through the art of street theater. And we are happy that this national festival has reached an international status over time. This process will definitely help the quality of the festival's works in the following periods as well.”

He believes that street theater is one of the branches of theater that directly interacts with the audience:” For this reason, these performances are often simple, comprehensible and short, and due to their presence in public spaces, they can be directly related to social, cultural and political issues and convey their messages quickly to diverse and wide audiences.”

He added: "This type of theater requires the interaction with the audience, and the influence is very high due to direct communication."
