Farhad Mohandespour:

New generation artists should not distance themselves from the veterans

Iran Theater- The meeting "Why do we work in theater" was held in the Ali Moallem Plateau with the presence of Farhad Mohandeshpour and Yadollah Agha- Abbasi and young artists interested in dramatic arts of Kerman province. And after watching the show " Takotsubo " , Farhad Mohandespour raised some points about this show.

At first, Farhad Mohandeshpour considered Yadollah Agha Abbasi to be one of the few directors who knows what he is doing in the theater and said: "I learn a lot from him and if I had the opportunity to be a student of Yadollah Agha- Abbasi like you, I would have become a better artist."

He continued: "Iranian theater is young and we have not experienced all its aspects yet. We must have theories about all important issues and raise the knowledge of Iranian theater artists because theater is considered a wonderful social form and the reasons of all people in the world for working in theater are different, but we must work because I think that in Iranian theater Quantity is still very important."

Mohandespour explained: "What defines theater is the co-location and co-time that happens in meeting with the other and meeting with oneself. Liveliness and body language are very important in today's theater and many concepts can be conveyed with the preparation of the actor's body."

He emphasized: "We all get anxious at one stage and moment about who we are and what we should do, and if you can't be true to yourself at this moment, society will impose what it wants on you. Theater is the sum of all arts, but it is an exercise in loyalty to oneself. "Tragedy means accepting yourself and accepting danger."

This theater teacher admitted that since the theater created, criticism has also started, he explained: "We must not forget that criticism requires high knowledge and investors and producers have come to help the theater and we must fix these missing links. Theater can unite us."

This theater teacher considered the disconnection to be the most important problem these days in Iranian theater: "The artists of the new generation should not distance themselves from the veteran artists so that they can use their experiences and move forward."

At the end, Yadollah Agha- Abbasi emphasized that it is the energy of the theater that is important and said: "Direct; Your work should be related to your experience . The method is not important. I have been working in the theater for 50 years and I believe that the theater actually begins when the performance ends and should involve the audience."
