Alireza Ara on theater and new form

Alireza Ara on theater and new form

Iran Theater-Alireza Ara, the stage actor and director, told about his longing for the theater and the reasons for his distance from the show.

Alireza Ara has not been worked in the theater for about 5 years. In recent years, he was a prolific actor in the theater and also as a director. Ara recounted the reasons for his absence from the stage and also mentioned the situation of the theater these days in a Q & A with Iran Theater.

Ara explained the reason for his distance from the theater stage: "The pandemic, social conditions, cinema and T.V projects and personal considerations have been affected my absence from the theater."

He went on to say: "I really miss the theater and acting on the stage, and if it’s being in the right place at the right time I will be able to serve the theater full time, I will definitely return to the stage as an actor or as a director."

The artist added: "When you are younger, you have more motivation to work, but when the time passes and you gained experience, many criteria change. Personally, if I am going to perform in the theater, I should be concerned about it and consider the necessity of performing it and not be busy directing or acting in a work just because of the situation and performance conditions."

Ara believes that theater is his main concern: "I mean dealing with any topic and content that fits my current state, the conditions of the society and the needs of the people. Apart from any slogans, anything that has the right impact on the audience and is considered a step forward is valuable to me."

Alireza Ara added: "Now, despite the increase of social networks compared to the past, we do not have artistic-cultural exchange with other countries as we should. I feel we need to move towards fresh form and content. »

The actor and theater director emphasized: "The basic problem is that we don't have a stable art system or policy. In fact, with the departure of one manager and the arrival of another manager ,the theater has been hit by political and social events. In this situation where there are many adversities and the main concern is not the theater itself, there is no motivation to work and this is where you decide to make a living and be a spectator from afar."
