Co-director of “falsch”: Directing in Iran is a very difficult job

Iran Theater-Kamran Shahlaei and Mohammad Larti have directed a play that deals with the issue of loneliness in today's humanity. The two spoke with Iran Theater about the difficulties involved in staging a play and believe that directing in Iran is a very difficult job.

The play "Falsch" co-directed by Mohammad Larti and Kamran Shahlaei is performing at 8:00 PM in the Chaharsoo Hall of the City Theater Complex every night.

Regarding the subject, Mohammad Larti said: “‘Falsch’ has a social theme that deals with the crisis of loneliness of today’s humanity and the conditions imposed on it. The crisis of loneliness is increasingly every day, despite the variety of communication tools.”

He added: “In this play, we examine the living conditions of individuals and their relationship with social media. Technology has entered our lives, but instead of creating a culture to use it, we have become mere consumers and are experiencing issues that we are not familiar with, Therefor, we are becoming lonelier every day.”

Kamran Shahlaei, the writer and co-director of the play, also stated: “‘Falsch’ refers to social harms. Loneliness is a big issue in all of our lives, which creates many challenges for us and creates condition for us that can be dramatic.”

Referring to his history of working with Mohammad Larti in co-directing, he added: “Mr. Larti and I have fond a common language for working together over the years. It is certainly not possible for everyone to reach a common language, and the first characteristic of people working together is to be flexible and not insist on personal theories.”
