Onur Kaya, a Turkish stage director:
Iranian people live by show

Iran Theater-Onur Kaya, a Turkish director and artist who is attending the 29th International Children and Youth Theater Festival in Hamadan, said that Iranian people live through theater; as can be seen on billboards in the city and sometimes translated for us by translators: Theater is life.

He is scheduled to perform "Pantomime" on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Shahid Avini Cultural and Artistic Complex in Hamedan.

The Turkish artist said about his experience  at this international festival: “Compared to other festivals I have been in Iran, I have witnessed more progress and quality. It’s because of  more professional approach to children and youth theater. It is quite clear that effort and, of course, thought have been put into this event and its artistic infrastructure.”

Kaya continued: “As a director, I have received various invitations to participate in international and domestic festivals, but what attracted me to this festival is Iran’s interest in the art of theater. The Iranians  live with theater; as can be seen on banners around the city and sometimes translated for us by a translator; it is the theater of life.”

The Turkish director and actor said: “I learned that there are special festivals in Iran, all of which are international.”

The Turkish artist declared: "It’s the second day of the festival, I see the passion, excitement, and crowd, and I am still happy for this event because it contributes to the growth of culture and the promotion of art in Iran."
