Delhi Ibsen Festival 2009...Productions from India, Bangladesh, Iran, China, Egypt, Netherlands...
The Delhi based Drama and Design Academy (DADA) in collaboration with the Royal Norwegian Embassy is poised for the second edition of its Ibsen festival, which commemorates the great Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, whose plays continue to be performed across the world.
Festival Director and Director of the Drama and Design Academy, Nissar Allana says that "this year's productions are extraordinary and present an international inter-cultural perspective, making it (the festival) unique, and the only specialized theatre festival of a foreign
playwright in India."
This year's program has 10 productions scheduled from various parts of the world, including India. Participating Directors are Amal Allana and Zuleikha Chaudhari from Delhi; Jyothish M.G. from Trivandrum; Santanu Bose from Kolkata; Neeraj Kabi from Mumbai; Kamaluddin Nilu from Bangladesh; Nora Amin from Egypt, Mirjam Koen from Netherlands; Attila Pessyani from Iran and Zhan Min from China.
