Ali Shams on his new experience and Shams Rehearsal House

Iran Theater- In an interview with Iran Theater, Ali Shams said that by making a cultural hangout economical, he intends to solve the problems and criticisms that are directed at theater institutions.
A well-known playwright and theater director, Ali Shams has recently established the Shams Rehearsal House, providing a friendly and intimate space for rehearsal, discussing, and distributing handmade crafts by artists.
He said about the establishment of the Shams Rehearsal House: “It is important to me to make this place economically viable as a cultural hangout for artists.”
The artist explained : “The reconstruction was formed with the help of my students. With Approximately 120 people in three shifts over two months from night to morning, we transformed a dilapidated building into this cultural hangout.”
Shams stated: “I tried to keep the memory of all the greats alive, and the tables in the courtyard are named after artists and directors who are my favorites. These artists are Gholamhossein Saedi, Atila Pesyani, Reza Servati, Mohammad Mousavati, Mohammad Charmshir, Amirreza Kohestani, Parviz Sayyad, Akbar Radi, Esmail Khalaj, and Ali- Asghar Dashti. Also, two plateaus of this building are decorated with the names of Bijan Mofid and Abbas Nalbandian.”
The artist said: "Our approach is not fundamentally a school here. When the teachers teach here, they are supported to advertise and hold classes, without a percentage of the cost of holding the training classes being paid for Shams House. In fact, we only receive the cost of the location and the plateaus. My whole effort was to address the criticisms I have always had about the performance of acting schools."
