A member of Kyrgyz Theater Group, «Er Toshtuk», on the 20th Tehran Mobarak International Puppet Festival

Iran Theater-Artists of Kyrgyz Puppet Theater has participated in International Puppet Festival in Iran.
Dzhokhar Altibaev, a representative of the Artushtok puppet group from Kyrgyzstan, says that we were introduced to the Mubarak puppet on the opening day. This introduction to the puppet was very surprising for them because they realized that the Iranians even named their theater festival Mobarak.
Kyrgyzstanis presents the play «Er Toshtuk» directed by Nurlan Asanbekov.
It was performed twice at the City Theater Complex on Wednesday, December 18th.
This is a fairy tale about the relationship between the animal world and man, about friendship and the struggle between good and evil. It is based on the ancient Kyrgyz epic.
The group's representative said: "Since the character of our show is traditional and we are dealing with the national hero of our country, our performance style is also traditional. Our decor is also designed with a combination of modern and traditional elements. This is our first time traveling to Iran and we are amazed by our presence at the City Theater Complex. Unfortunately, we are not very familiar with Iranian theater, but we see attending the Tehran Mubarak Puppet Festival as an opportunity to get to know it."
He went on to say:” Puppet show is important in Kyrgyzstan. In the capital of our country, we have a central puppet theater complex, and in other regions, other halls have been established for puppet shows. That is why people are familiar with this type of show and come to see puppet shows.”
For his final words, the Kazakh artist explained: "Maybe we don't know much about Iranian theater and puppet theater, but on the opening day we were introduced to the Mobarak puppet. This introduction to the Mobarak puppet was very surprising to us because we realized that the Iranians even named their theater festival Mobarak."
The 20th Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival is underway until January 2, 2025.
