It's time to pay attention to the youth

The artistic director of the 20th Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival, which opens on December 16 in the open air of Ab-o- Atash Park, explained the process of holding this artistic event.

Soltan -Ahmadi said: "When we were preparing the festival call, I wrote this emotional sentence: "We will float again in the clear world of puppets, hoping that they will color our world." But we started the festival in this smoky sky and polluted and cold air, hoping that the puppets would be in a good mood for the people. Despite the cold weather, we held the opening of the festival in the open air of the Ab-O-Atash Park, and we witnessed the audience's support in a passionate atmosphere.”

 

Regarding the presence of veterans in the field of puppetry at this event, he said: "Personally, I would like to benefit from the experiences of veterans, especially those who are older. For this reason, we tried to value the presence of these veterans in various sections from the opening day."

                                                                                
He continued: "We must pay attention to the fact that the generation has changed and very talented and dynamic young artist arises, who adds excitement to the festival.  So we tried to reach out to young people, in addition to the golden generation who existed in this field and helped to promote puppets show. Unfortunately, we sometimes face depression and inactivity due to ignoring the efforts of young people."

 

The artistic director of the 20th Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival also said about the jury members: "We tried to include both veterans and young people in the jury, and their names will be announced soon."
