Denis Greykov: The child audience changes the energy of the performance

Iran Theater- Denis Greykov, an actor and puppeteer of the Russian show, said that the energy of the performance with a child audience is completely different from other performances.

The play "The Whale and the Snail" written by Julia Donaldson and directed by Natalia Stefpanenk from Russia was staged on Wednesday, December 19, at the Qashghai Hall of the City Theater Complex.

Denis Greykov, the actor and puppeteer of this puppet show, who was present as the director's representative at the Iran Puppet Festival, said: "We are from the Panama theater troupe, which has been active in the field of producing plays for children and adolescents for nearly 9 years."

He went on to say: "Our acquaintance with Iranian puppet theater began with the performance of the "Eagle" theater group at the 4th Baltic Festival in Vyborg, Russia, and we came to Iran for the first time at the invitation of the secretary of the 20th Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Theater Festival, who was present at Balric Festival."

The artist stated: "Our play was specifically for the young and children's age group, and we expected this age group to be present in the hall because the energy of the performance would be completely different with the presence of children."

The actor of the play said: "The snail puppet is designed and made as a symbol of a little girl with beautiful eyes, so the puppeteer is a woman. The whale is also designed as a symbol of a boy."
He concluded: "The festival is a place for exchanging different cultures and getting to know theater groups from other countries, which creates an opportunity for friendship and intercultural cooperation and co-production."
