About 20 plays will be staged in Mashhad

Iran Theater- Karim Jashni, Managing Director of the Dramatic Arts Association of Razavi Khorasan Province said about the success of Mashhad theater performances and the programs of this association in recent months.
Performances are always well received in Mashhad, and the halls of this city are always full of spectators, whose presence contributes to the success and prosperity of the theater. Today, 17 shows are being staged in different halls of Mashhad.
Karim Jashni said that Mashhad city hosts an average of 10 shows every night throughout the year, and he explained about the reception of the theater in the last month and the programs of this association in recent months in this city.
He said: "The total number of theater tickets sold in Mashhad reached 12,767 in the last month, 6,662 tickets were sold online. We have performed 120 performances and the sales of tickets have reached more than one billion, 123 million and 195 thousand tomans in December.
Jashni added: "The records breaks in last month because the show "Eternal Melodies" directed by Keyvan Sabbagh became the best-selling theater in the history of Mashhad. It sold 10,425 tickets in 42 performances and sold more than 2 billion tomans.
He also explained about the special situation of the Mashhad theater: "The Mashhad theater has found its own path with the programs that have been made, it has developed a good reputation. Also, we are looking to add new non -governmental theaters to Mashhad theaters with more consultations with investors, because there is potential in Mashhad if more performances are staged and these theaters can greatly help the development of Mashhad theater. “
Jashani continued: "We are consulting with the Mashhad Municipality to provide land for the construction of new halls to investors. This will be used for a period of 15 years to provide the possibility of construction and operation of private theaters.”
He pointed out the situation of theaters in the cities of Khorasan province and said: " At least one show is on stage every night in the cities of Quchan, Neishabur, Torbat Haidarieh, Kashmar and Sabzevar . And they are enjoying good facilities. We are witnessing that several shows are being performed in the cities at the same time, which indicates the potential and growth of theater in these regions.”
The Managing Director of the Dramatic Arts Association, further noted: "For the first time in Iran, we have decided to hold elections for the appointment of the Board of Trustees and the responsible office of the Dramatic Arts Association in the cities. This move can help the prosperity of the city's theaters and make more use of their capabilities. Some of the plays from Tehran like "Bak to Black" and “the hangover" also had performances in Mashhad and were able to have a great impact on the audience and the theater in the city. The producers are considering other plays from Tehran as well. “
Referring to the success of this call, Jashani said: "Today, more than 500 people from all over the province have participated in this call, and about 107 people have become candidates for the office of the association in the cities. We hope this month, we will identify the officials of the theaters in the cities and witness the expansion of as many theaters as possible in different regions of the province.
