Massoud Karamati on the show “Shared” and acting

Iran Theater –A veteran Iranian artist , Massoud Karamati is acting in a show “Shared” by Morteza Shahkaram.

He emphasizes that the character in this show is new to him and he thinks that this character has been written and played well.

Massoud Karamati  talks about  his motivations for playing a role  in the show "Shared ": "For me as an actor, the character was new. This character was very special and well-written, and with the distant knowledge I had of director, I accepted the offer."

He explains that “Shared” deals with the social dilemma of living in society: “The cost of living has put pressure on all of us and even our lifestyle has become strange because of this problem. Our lifestyle and living in small apartments has nothing to do with Iranian culture and we still don’t know it. In this play, we see two families forced to live together in an apartment due to economic problems. However, “Shared” doesn’t really deal with the difficulties of this kind of life and the audience sees the presence of a person in this house who also ruins this space.”

The artist adds: “"The characters enter a game with the presence of this person, and this game continues until they cry out their defeat. I liked this different perspective in Iranian drama and tried to play this character correctly. A character who could be a good person, but he has chosen a lifestyle that has turned him into a cruel person. In fact, the gray character and the situation of this character were attractive to me because I had never experienced such a situation in acting before. In fact, completely positive or negative characters are not exciting, and I don't like such characters at all; because I think they are far from reality."

The actor of the play "Shared" declares: "In this play, we witness real and realistic relationships, although the director's approach to them is a little different. The way the text and dialogues are written is also very well thought out, such that the dramatic situations are also defined in the characters' words."
