Hasan Joudaki: The City Theater Complex is preparing to organize the documentation center

Iran Theater- Hassan Jodaki, the head of the City Theater Complex, spoke about the beginning of the project to improve and organize the documentation center and library of this complex and addressed the necessities of the project to organize the documents of dramatic arts.
He believes that preserving the valuable art documents of Iranian theater is the protection of a precious cultural asset and heritage. The veteran and knowledgeable theater artists of our Iran have left lasting work and unique achievements for the generations to come over time, which are a document of honor and testimony to the rich culture of our beloved land. What is now recorded in the Center for Performing Arts Documents and the Library of the City Theater Complex is only a part of this valuable capital, the preservation and maintenance of which is considered a serious task. And we have also started a plan to improve, organize and update the documents of this complex with the support and supervision of the Deputy of Artistic Affairs and the General Directorate of Dramatic Arts.
He added about how researchers have access to these documents: "These documents have been scanned or photographed in the same location of the City Theater Library in all these years, in collaboration with students, researchers, and academic figures of Iran. It seems that what has been published these days on social networks is derived from the same photographs and scans. Although some of these investigations and research have even been published in the form of books and research articles. Of course, it is not out of the question that a limited number of these documents were removed during the relocations for the reconstructions carried out in the past decades."
Hassan Jodaki finally pointed out the necessity of the plan to organize the documentation center: "Based on the concerns raised in recent days, the management of the General Directorate of Darmatic Arts and the City Theater Complex have put this project on their agenda, and we will inform about the improvement and organization of the library and documentation center at various stages. We want to launch a system to provide the heritage of the complex online for researchers as well."
