Ramona Shah: It takes time to understand a role

Iran Theater- Ramona Shah, who is performing four roles in the show "Haftkhab" these evenings, considers the multiple appearances in several plays simultaneously to be one of the problems of acting nowadays, which affects the quality of the plays.

Ramona Shah is on stage in the four roles of Rudabeh, Rakhsh, dragon, and Rostam in the play "Haftkhab" directed by Mozhdeh Zamani at the Nofel Loshato Theater. In this interview, Shah explained the state of acting in today's Iranian theater.

She said: "The first important question that a student and teacher of an art class or workshop deal with on acting is what characteristics an actor must have to appear on stage, but what I see these days is that neither the instructors nor the trainees think enough about this topic and details . we say very generally: good body and expression, which is first and foremost understood by the resident and, according to the majority agreement, generally means beauty, fitness and physical strength, a beautiful voice and correct pronunciation of words, which is only partially true, and the issue is deeper and more internal than these words."

The artist explained: The first requirement for a proper and conscious presence on stage is to ask ourselves these questions: "Why am I on stage at all?" "What distinguishes me from other people?", "Why do I think I'm spectacular?" Why should people spend their money and time watching me?" Honest answers to each of these questions open doors for us that make us understand why they say, "After mining, theater and acting are the hardest jobs in the world."

She continued: "Now, if our criterion for being a good and successful actor is to constantly go from one show to another or from one filming location to the next, then we are definitely depriving ourselves and the audience of the opportunity to achieve the important goal, the unparalleled pleasure and happiness."
