Atefeh Razavi: We are not allowed to insult the audience

Iran Theater- Atefeh Razavi who is performing in the play "Amer Mulukaneh" written and directed by Hossein Pakdel, talks with Iran Theater about how to perform and analyze her role and the situation of theater in Iran nowadays
Atefeh Razavi said about the deep meaning of the play: "In many individual and social cases, the meaning and concept that we give to everything in life is determined for us by society and those around us, and in fact, we move forward based on the path that others determine for us. In the play "Amer Mulukaneh", we also witness a deep and heavy concept of love that you must see and hear carefully. A concept that the writer and director seem to have predicted and you must understand its depth over time."
The actress of the personality of Forough in "Amer Mulukaneh" said about whether the definition of loyalty and love can be generalized on a wider level: "Every person believes in a concept of love based on their emotional intelligence and personal life conditions, culture and customs of the time they live in, and suffers innocently according to this meaning. I use the word suffering because sometimes we mistakenly confuse the concept of construction and loyalty with enduring and carrying a heavy burden. Forough is also one of the women who stands by the concept she created from love or has created for her from love. In fact, when love is always involved in a general concept, from love for one's homeland to love for one's children, etc., stability is formed. This character's unwavering loyalty to love is a concept that we have all in different ways. And therefore everyone can put themselves in Forough's place in the show. I hope that all audiences, especially women, will realize as soon as possible that they should watch this show to find themselves in it for a moment.”
Razavi explained about the challenges of the role: "Forough is on stage for a long time. This presence was challenging for me with the volume of dialogues and also the accent chosen for the character, but I have always liked challenging roles and it is very interesting to me. I love every moment of the role's life and since I believe in the role, I live it on stage or in front of the camera; because I believe that even if I play a negative role, I have to believe it; if I try to pretend to be bad or good, I have lost."
Razavi thinks that comedy show is very valuable and difficult: Now, the work of humor and comedy is confused with cheap show. As an artist, I am not allowed to insult my audience. In parts of the play "Amer Mulukaneh", the audience laughs at Forough's words, but this is a laughter that has something to say behind it. In the past, the audience knew which theaters they could go to for laughter and entertainment, or where to go to see something that was not just entertainment, but now I myself do not know which theater I should go to watch my favorite work.
