Ali Mahmoudi: I have never been embarrassed on stage

Iran Theater- Ali Mahmoudi has been collaborating with Mohammad Musavat in the Radical 14 Theater group for 20 years. He appeared on stage in two of the director's plays, "Family" and "Fatherless." Mahmoudi considers Musavat his friend and mentor.
Mahmoudi said of his 20-year friendship and collaboration with Musavat: I was in college with Musavat in 2005. I was a theater student and he was a painting student. In those years, the university theater festival was very serious and exciting for us, and in the first few years of our friendship, we tried hard to get into the festival, and finally, after several failures (if you can call it failures), the "Radical Theater 14" group was finally able to stage its first performance called "The Army of Mirza Malekum Khan Khanblouki." The interesting and unfortunate thing was that Musavat was a painting student, the university theater festival did not accept students from non-theater majors as directors, and so this play and his next play called "This Black Ribbon," in which he was the writer, designer, and director, were presented at the festival under the title of co-director between me and Mohammad Ali Mohammadi.
The actor also said about his appearance in the show "Fatherless": " After Musavat decided to stage the third version of Fatherless, I took on the role of "Wolf." At the same time, I was playing the role of "Grandmother" in the play "Family," and so this was a new experience for me, and ofcourse had its own challenges. I had to prepare in a shorter time than usual, which of course we also had this experience in 2014 for the play "Family," and these conditions were the same for all the cast.”
The artist added: "For me as an actor, there is always a big fear; the fear that the role assigned to me will never be like a certain role I have played in previous experiences. Not in voice, not in body, not in mannerisms. Whenever I feel like that, I have to find an escape route, otherwise I will be ashamed. I do not claim that I was the best actor for a certain role. It is certainly possible that another actor could have played that role better than me, but I am sure of one thing: I was never ashamed on stage."
