Soren Valente Ovesen, Danish stage artist passed away  at 74

Iran Theater- Søren Valente Ovesen, a Danish actor, writer, and stage director who had experienced for more than 40 years, died after a long battle with cancer.

As a renowned theater director in Denmark, he had staged his plays in many countries. He first gained recognition in 2011 with the play "Spaghetti" at International  Theater Festival for Children's and Youth in Iran, the show was well-received by the audience. In 2017, he also participated in the festival as the playwright of the show "Two-Person Solo".

He held a workshop on "How to Direct Theater for Children and Adolescents" at the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents in 2019 for the 26th International Theater Festival for Children's and Youth.

In the same year, he produced the play "Elephant" for a teenage audience with two Iranian actors in Denmark. This show not only not performed at the festival, but its nationwide performances in Iran were also canceled during the pandemic.

Mr Soren has travelled with Batida, a Danish theatre group to 20 countries world-wide.
