Organized by the Ankara-based General Directorate of State Theaters, the festival will host 65 theater companies, including from the US, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Indonesia, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), Italy, France, Togo, the Republic of Bashkortostan and Latvia.

A number of local groups will put on theatrical productions with the support of the Ankara and Sivas state theaters. Other activities will include puppet theater, shadow drama, opera, ballet and street theater as well as a number of workshops and seminars.

The festival will get under way with a performance of the play “Camdan Kalp” (Heart of Glass) at 4 p.m. on April 24 at the Ankara State Theater’s Akün stage.
