4th Int'l French Drama Festival

“Rajnoitik Hotya” and “Godor Opekkhay” staged On the third day (April 25) of the ongoing 4th International French Drama Festival, two plays -- “Rajnoitik Hotya” and “Godor Opekkhay” -- were staged at the National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

“Rajnoitik Hotya” is an adaptation of existentialist playwright Jean Paul Sartre's political play “Les Mains Sales” (English title: “Dirty Hands”), while “Godor Opekkhay” is an adaptation of Samuel Beckett's “Waiting for Godot”.
“Rajnoitik Hotya” is the latest production of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Goshthi's theatre troupe (central branch).
Translated by Arpita Ghosh, the play has been directed by Ratan Dev.
 “Godor Opekkhay” (translated by Professor Kabir Chowdhury) was staged by Theatre School. The play has been directed by seasoned actor-director Ataur Rahman.
The five-day festival wraps up today. Natukay will stage “Eit Marle Patkelti…”, an adaptation of the Marc Camoletti play “Ding Dong”, today. Moreover, the organisers will honour two seasoned theatre activists -- Aly Zaker and Mamunur Rashid -- at a ceremony before staging of the play
