Another Part of the House Reading Will Reinvent Bernarda Alba at New Ohio Theatre

Hero Theatre will present a benefit reading of Migdalia Cruz's Another Part of the House, a re-imagined work of Federico Garcia Lorca's The House of Bernarda Alba, Nov. 7 at the New Ohio Theatre.
Directed by Mabou Mines co-artistic director Sharon Fogarty, the 7:30 PM reading will feature Ruth Maleczech (Mabou Mines co-artistic director), Elisa Bocanegra, Kevin Fugaro, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Flor de Liz Perez, Judith Delgado, Anna Lamadrid, Anya Migdal, Stacy Osei-Kuffour and Bobby Plasencia.
Another Part of the House, according to press notes, "portrays a passion-filled tale of women in the time of revolution in Cuba."
This performance is the second for Hero's Reading Series and its fundraising efforts to present a first full-scale production of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters. Following Another Part of the House, Shakespeare's As You Like It, directed by Jackson Gay, will be held in New York City Dec. 5.
Hero Theatre, founded in March 2011, strives to provide opportunities for theatre artists to hone their craft by way of the classics and to make classical plays accessible to modern audiences.
