Warm Reception for “Parvaz” in India’s Children Theater Festival

Asghar Khalili’s “Parvaz (The Flight)” ignited enthusiasm among audience in the 11th International Children Theater Festival in India.

Khalili said in an interview with Iran theater website that all four Iranian participants were received by the audiences enthusiastically and the groups could attract the crowd with one performance.
He added a reception was held by Iran’s ambassador to New Delhi for the Iranian groups where the diplomats talked to directors and members of the group on the status of Iran’s theater in the Indian festival.
Plays from Italy, New Zealand, Nigeria, Slovenia, Sweden and Zambia had performance in the festival, said the director.
Khalili added that he was going to perform the play in the Puppet Show Festival in Iran.
“The play revolves around migration of a bird which wants to learn how to fly and it pictures the story in an outstanding way,” explained Khalili.
The director said Maryam Salimi, Mojtaba Khalili, Ali Ghiyasvand, Mohammad Siahpoush were members of the group accompanied him in India.
Four plays from Iran including Khalili’s Parvaz, “Jango Solh (War & Peace)” by Ali Abedi, “Hameh Doustane Man (All My Friends)” by Mohammad Boroumand and “Sarbazane Solh (Peacekeeping Soldiers)” by Shafieekhah took part in the Indian festival.
