After “I, You, We, You, They” Outdoor Drama in Fadjr Fest Iran, Turkey to Co-Produce a Play

“Farzin Rayhani-Rad”, who worked as translator with the team of “I, You, We, They”, was to direct the joint production.
He told Iran Theater website that “I, You, We, You, They” attracted huge audience and Iranian officials, particularly Rahmat Amini, the event’s secretary, and Mohammad Dashtgoli, acting director of the Dramatic Art Center during the festival.
The plan to co-produce a performance with Iran was raised in a meeting between the secretary of the festival and the group, he added.
Rayhani-Rad explained that “I, You, We, You, They”, was a silent play played through movements. It was performed by “Jur Jur Bazlar” group and was directed Oftal Golbodock in the outdoor area of the Tehran’s City Theater.
The decision to have joint performance was taken so far, he said, adding that either a story by Rumi or one renowned both in Iranian and Turkish culture would be staged. However, he added, the Turkish group suggested a play on the mythical bird “Simorgh”.
The choice would be made based on dramatic aspect of the story; Rayhani-Rad said and added the joint group would have a month-long rehearsal of which two weeks would be in Iran and the rest in Turkey.
The play would eventually be performed in both countries.
Rayhani-Rad said that the chosen play would be staged based on movements and elements rooted in the east, which were Iranisized. It would probably be performed in late March and early April.
He said that Iran’s Jila Al-e Rashad was among Iranian artists would play in the drama for sure and Golbodock would also have a role.
