12 Iranian Plays to Be Unveiled in Armenia

Twelve Iranian dramas will be published in Armenian based on a memorandum of understanding between Iran’s Theater House and Armenia’s Association of Playwrights.

Andranik Khochoomian, who is a translator of plays from Armenian to Persian, told Iran Theater website he was set to travel with eight or ten Iranian playwrights to Armenia in September and October to unveil works by them for their Armenian peers.
He added that according to the agreement, some playwrights would travel to the other country each year to unveil works published and translated there.
Khochoomian said Armenian playwrights visited Iran last year and it was Iranians’ turn to travel there to unveil 12 plays written by Iranian writers and translated in Armenian by translators.
As a translator, Khochoomian said, he translated 12 Armenian plays in Farsi which would be presented to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to receive award.
On his other activities, he said he had written “Chikarli’s New Adventure” and “Cavemen”, both were stories for children and young adults.
Khochoomian added that his fiction “Pal Banjooni” was submitted to Ofogh Publishing House to get state permission for print.
