Bijan Nemati-Sharif Passed Away

Bijan Nemati-Sharif, sculptor, painter and puppet-maker, died of long-term terminal illness.
Nemati-Sharif who was suffering of brain tumors in the past years succumbed to his illness last night, Iran Theater website reported.
Born in Ghaemshahr, Nemati-Sharif, 65, was a graduate of sculptor major from Tehran University. He was employed by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) in 1975 as designer and maker of theatre puppets.
His career spanned designing and making of 58 puppets and marionettes for theatrical and non-theatrical projects of IIDCYA, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and …. He was professors of many students in higher education institutions like Art Academic Complex, Tehran University, Theater & Cinema University, Soureh Faculty and branches of Islamic Azad University.
Dramatic Arts Center express condolences to Iran puppet show society and the relatives of this beloved artist.
The date for the burial procession of the veteran artist will be announced later.
