Tennessee Williams' Hotel Plays to Receive British Premiere at a London Hotel

Tennessee Williams&#039 Hotel Plays to Receive British Premiere at a London Hotel

Young London-based Defibrillator Theatre Company will take over three suites across three floors of the Grange Holborn Hotel in central London to perform three Tennessee Williams plays – Green Eyes, The Travelling Companion and Sunburst that have previously been unproduced in the U.K.

Presented under the umbrella title The Hotel Plays, it will begin performances Oct. 4, prior to an official opening Oct. 5, for a run through Oct. 27.
According to press materials, Williams spent much of his later life living in hotel rooms, and as a consequence set many of his plays in hotels and boarding houses.
Green Eyes, written in 1970 but unpublished for almost 40 years, will be directed by Defibrillator's artistic director, James Hillier. Sunburst, directed by Robert Hastie, and The Travelling Companion, directed by Anthony Banks, will follow it.
