Centre for Performing Arts & State Prison Organization sign cooperation MOU

A cooperation memorandum of understanding has been signed by Ghader Ashena, Director General of Iran’s Performing Arts Center and Cultural & Education Director General of State Prison Organization, Seyed Ali Tahami.

According to news gathered by Iran Theatre website, during the meeting while stressing the importance of art in objectives of Prison Organization and the significant importance of it, Seyed Ali Tahami said:” Signing present memorandum provides a domain of our activities and we should increase our work in this field. He added” In fact major objective of this cooperation is to develop and promote culture and arts in prisons which are a part of our society.”
Director General of State Prison Organization expressed his wishes that signing the MOU will actually be a beginning to expand the theatrical activities in prisons.
Ghader Ashena, Director General of Performing Arts Centre noted that the most important part of this memorandum is the execution of its articles and added” As the environment of prison is such that the theatrical activities are performed in a much more concentrated place, therefore it can be more effective on the prisoners.
Expressing his satisfaction of signing the MOU he added “In case strong and good plays get produced in prisons we will definitely support them and even introduce the plays to festivals.
Messrs. ALireza Mohammadi, M.A. of Arts of State prison Organization and Mehdi Shafiee Deputy of finance and administration were present in the meeting where the MOU were signed between Ghader Ashena , Managing Director of Performing Arts and Seyed Ali Tahami Manging Director of State Prisons Organization.
