Cooperation and between Iran and Armenia’s Theater has been Emphasized

He said: The objective of signing a cooperation agreement between the two countries, Iran and Armenia is establishing a mutual and two-way collaboration in the line of theater’s growth and elevation and by signing of this agreement with “Hyefest” festival; we have some expectations form its secretary like more introduction of Iranian theater to the various places of the world.

He insisted: Most counties try to include and present one performing play from Iran in the form of festivals like Avinion and Edinburg.

The 31st Fadjr Int’l Theater Festival’s executive director specified: By the cultural acquaintances between the two countries, we prefer to produce a mutual work with Armenian artists and in the second stage apart from the “Hyefest” festival make it to the public performance and in the third stage introduce the Iranian theater to more international festivals.

In the meantime, “Hyefest” festival’s Secretary has proposed some solutions for introducing Iranian theater to the world and added: One of the solutions and suggestions for more introduction of Iranian theater will be asking the assistance of government system which presently does his job. For example if Lithuanian Embassy wants give me a play as the secretary of the festival I will not accept it, but if a festival in Lithuania asks me to introduce a play, I will send the Iranian plays because it is important for me that the staged plays come from Fadjr festival as I have found through my experience that the plays featured at the Fadjr Int’ theater Festival have a significant value.

Shariatie in describing and introducing our country’s theater said: Four international festivals take place in Iran that include Ceremonial Traditional Festival, Fadjr Theater Festival, Puppet Theater (Unima) and Children Theater Festival,

He explained: What has been known in other countries as Movement Festival may be what is in Iran’s Ceremonial traditional theater; therefore it can be performed in various occasions and different festivals. Also plays of the Fadjr Int’l Theater Festival which in this year amount to 140plays, have the potential of focus and concentration of this cooperation.

“Hyefest” Festival secretary insisted: Any play introduced by reputable festivals has its value and credit for us.

During the meeting, Ghader Ashena considering 5 important points of this agreement that should be taken into consideration said: The mutual work and public performance of Iranian artists in Armenia and Armenian artists in Iran should be taken into consideration between the collaborations of the two countries. Meantime, this could be taken place through arrangements of Iranian embassies in Armenia and Armenia’s embassy in Iran or “Hyefest” and Fadjr Festival.

He added: Iranian embassies in other countries are compliant to the programs we provide them and at the moment if our embassies authorities decide to do any artistic work they will do so by Iran’s Art authorities order.

While saying participating at various festivals are among the objectives of this collaboration, added: Just like we wish to have works from Armenian artists, we like to have mutual cooperation and collaboration.

He added: Also in providing necessary conditions for educational workshops for artists in Armenia, is among the programs included in this agreement that we expect to be executed.

In the end of the meeting, Arthur Ghoukasian said: Our Ministry of Culture will take into serious consideration whatever I have told you here and will make it the base of the a serious cooperation as establishing  ties with Iran is considered  highest diplomatic and cultural level I, therefore this cooperation will be at the most level of mutual understanding.
