The draft protocol in theatre field has been signed between Performing arts Office and Secretary General of the international festival of Georgia’s Tbilisi.
According to news gathered by Iran theater website from news desk of the31st Fadjr Int’l Theater Festival, in a meeting with Ghader Ashena , Ali Akbar Tarkhan Director of the Performing Arts Office & Manager of International Affairs, Akaterina Mizmiumishvilli secretary general of the Tbilisi international festival of Georgia, and Leon Solatse artistic manager of Marjanishvilli theater company and theater and cinema university of Georgia, along the Fadjr theater festival, a draft protocol of cooperation between Iran Performing Arts General Office and Secretary General of Tbilisi Int’l Festival has been signed.
Then Akaterina Mizmiumishvilli while stating that “Rostam Va Sohrab” puppet opera from Behrouz Gharib Pour was the first Iranian play to be staged in Georgia which was widely greeted by the audience, said: We wish that a more closer relations be established between Iran Performing Arts General Office and Tbilisi International Festival and we have had some planning in this regard that we hope to reach an understanding and be able to witness Iranian groups presence in Georgia and vice versa.
Then noted: We are your neighboring country and as the geographic and time distance is very little, we feel at ease with you and wish to have more cultural ties with Iran.
Secretary General of the Georgia, Tbilisi International Festival while noting that this cooperation should not be limited to the group’s presence and general public performance, stated: The cultural exchange should also occur in other areas such as stage designing an, costume designing information and artist exchange, etc.
Ghader Ashena also stated that cooperation with neighboring countries is among the priorities, added: From cultural point of view we have similarities with your country and are willing to have a mutual continuous relations not limited to festivals only.
He noted that In addition to this the geographical and time closeness helps both counties to increase their exchange and we too are ready to cooperate with Georgia in different fields of performing arts.
Performing arts Director while noting that in the first place Georgian theater should be introduced to Iranian artists and vice versa, admitted that: We have the capacity to develop mutual plays by the two countries and the other cooperation we can have is to have general public performance of Iranian plays in Georgia and general public performance of Georgian plays in Iran.
He added: Another issue is the presence and participation of both countries in the international festivals of each other. For example in Iran we have international puppet plays, Children theater, ceremonial and traditional theater and Street Performance theater festivals that the Georgina groups can also take part in these festivals.
While stating the other cooperation’s between Iran and Georgia’s theater he noted: speeches by prominent theater professors and educational workshops are among other forms of cooperation we can have that we have its capacity already.
His counterpart reminded that : As soon as we return to Georgia, we will send you our annual program for the coming year so that you will be aware of the theatrical schedules of Georgia and the mutual cooperation begin as soon as possible.
Ghader Ashena said the signing of the draft protocol between the two countries is a positive step in theater and expressed his satisfaction.
Then the draft protocol of cooperation had been signed by Ghader Ahena, Director of Iran Performing Arts and Akaterina Mazmishvilli, Secretary General of Tbilisi, Georgia international Festival.
It should be noted that this protocol includes general points i.e. information and publication exchange, educational workshop, expert exchange, people participation as international judges, artist, decorators and stage designers, writers, and also reporter’s exchange that with further communications in the near future, the final agreement and main protocol will also be signed.
