2013 INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON NEUMOKINESIA
ORTZAITheatre Laboratory, settled in Vitoria Gasteiz (Basque Country - Spain), will hold the 2013 INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON NEUMOKINESIA from the 16th to the 20th of July.
NEUMOKINESIA, technique developed in ORTZAI by actor and director Iker Ortiz de Zarate, has proved its suitability to train actors, dancers and musicians. The workshop is a practical approach to NEUMOKINESIA through team and individual dynamics.
In spite of the youth of the Laboratory, founded in 2005, a high percentage of its students have found their place as professionals, and renowned actors and dancers are actually being trained in ORTZAI according to the principles of NEUMOKINESIA, as a relieving way to develop their craft and deepen into Art. The workshop is opened to acting, dance and music students, who will be admitted and awarded this scholarship according to their CV. Might two applicants´ training and/or professional backgrounds be considered as equivalent, dates of application will be considered. All admitted students (up to 14) will be awarded the ORTZAI Scholarship and will pay no fee for the tuition.
The workshop, directed by teacher Iker Ortiz de Zarate, will provide the students a deep first contact with NEUMOKINESIA. Technique will be put into practice, as a group scenic work will be developed and shared with an audience on the last day.
Classes will be taught in English (French is spoken) and will run from 09:00 to 15:00, from July 16th to July 20th. On July 21st, a cultural visit/trip will be organized.
The ORTZAI SCHOLARSHIP wants to provide acting, dance and music students the opportunity to work on this technique and to exchange their experiences with students of different backgrounds and origins, in the privileged frame of Vitoria Gasteiz and the Basque Country in summer time.
Group or individual reliable accommodation will be arranged by ORTZAI at affordable hotels and `bed and breakfast´s under request.
