cast in Pride and Prejudice at Regent’s Park
Jane Asher, Charlotte Wakefield and Michael Xavier are all to appear in productions being staged at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London this summer.
Asher has been cast as Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice, while Wakefield will appear as Maria Rainer and Xavier will play Captain Von Trapp, both in The Sound of Music.
Meanwhile, Faye Brooks, who recently played the lead role of Elle Woods in the UK tour of Legally Blonde the Musical, will play Liesl in The Sound of Music.
The show is running from July 25 to September 7 and is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh.
Pride and Prejudice, which is running from June 20 to July 20, will also feature David Oakes as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Kirby as Elizabeth Bennet.
It is directed by Deborah Bruce and adapted by Bristol Old Vic former artistic director Simon Reade.
As has already been announced, Robert Sean Leonard will play Atticus Finch in Timothy Sheader’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird, which begins previews tonight.
