At the Tower Theatre Company in Paris

Each year the Tower Theatre Company presents a play by William Shakespeare in the open-air Théâtre de Verdure, which is in the Bois de Boulogne.

This year we will present The Taming of the Shrew - one of Shakespeare's most exuberant and boisterous comedies - performed in English with French subtitles directed by Penny Tuerk on Tuesday 4th June until Sunday 9th June.
All the young (and not so young) men in Padua are in love with Bianca, but her father won't allow any of them to woo her until her elder sister Katherina is married. However, no-one is prepared to take on Katherina’s independent spirit and notoriously fiery temper. Then Petruchio arrives in town. He is willing to go to any lengths to secure a rich wife and his attempts to "tame the shrew" form the core of a play rich in traditional, sometimes farcical comedy, which nevertheless poses some awkward questions about the roles of men and women in society.
The performances at noon on Thursday 6th June are aimed particularly at students and school parties.
