2013 Tony Awards: June 9 on CBS, Live from Radio City Music Hall
CBS will telecast the American Theatre Wing's 67th Annual Tony Awards® live on Sunday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT (delayed 8:00 p.m. PT). The Tony Awards will return to New York City's fabled Radio City Music Hall in 2013 after a two-year absence.
The 2013 Tony Awards, hosted by Emmy Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, will also feature appearances by Tom Hanks, Jake Gyllenhaal, Scarlett Johansson, Sigourney Weaver, Anna Kendrick, Zachary Quinto, Sally Field, Audra McDonald, Cyndi Lauper, Jane Krakowski, Alan Cumming, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jon Cryer, Megan Hilty, Andrew Rannells, Matthew Morrison, Cuba Gooding Jr, Jesse Eisenberg, Laura Benanti, Steven Van Zandt, Martha Plimpton, Hal Prince, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Barrett Foa and Mike Tyson.

The Antoinette PerryAward for Excellence in Theatre, more commonly known informally as the Tony Award, recognizes achievement in live Broadway theatre. The awards are presented by the American Theatre Wingand The Broadway Leagueat an annual ceremony in New York City. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances, and an award is given for regional theatre. Several discretionary non-competitive awards are also given, including a Special Tony Award, the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award.
The awards are named after Antoinette Perry, co-founder of the American Theatre Wing.

The Tony Awards are considered the highest U.S. theatre honor, the New York theatre industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards(Oscars) for motion pictures, the Grammy Awardsfor music and the Emmy Awardsfor television, and the Laurence Olivier Awardfor theatre in the UKand the Molière Awardof France.
From 1997 to 2010, the Tony Awards ceremony was held at Radio City Music Hallin New York City in June and broadcast liveon CBStelevision, except in 1999, when it was held at the Gershwin Theatre. In 2011 and 2012, the ceremony was held at the Beacon Theatre. The 67th Tony Awardswill return to Radio City Music Hall on June 9, 2013.
