Starting in autumn 2013, War Horse on Stage will head on a highly anticipated tour of the UK and Ireland. Plymouth is set to be the very first stop of the tour providing a perfect opportunity to enjoy a War Horse Plymouth theatre break.

Based on the celebrated novel by children’s writer, Michael Morpurgo the War Horse hits the Theatre Royal, Plymouth on 27th September, 2013. This award winning smash hit has captivated audiences taking them on an unforgettable journey through history. War Horse Plymouth is set in the First World War, and follows the brave and extraordinary tale of a young recruit and his horse and the unbreakable bond they share.

The young boy named Albert becomes separated from his beloved horse Joey after he is sold to the cavalry and sent to France after the outbreak of the war. Joey ends up in no man's land after being forced to battle for both sides. But he is never forgotten by his trusted friend, Albert who is ready to take on the impossible and bring Joey home.

Throughout the breathtaking production of War Horse Plymouth, life sized puppets are brought alive on stage by the amazing Hang spring Puppet Company which will take you on an emotional journey through history. War Horse on Stage is hailed as ‘the theatrical event of the decade’.
