Jimmy Titanic Opens Jun 19, 2013 at Arsenal Center for the Arts

Jimmy Titanic written by Bernard McMullan, directed by Carmel O'Reilly opens Jun 19 until Jun 30 2013 at Arsenal Center for the Arts.
Even 101 years after the sinking of the unsinkable ocean liner, no one is going to turn the story of tragedy and hubris into an SNL skit. But Belfast playwright Bernard McMullan, like all good Irish writers, was able to find the humor at the bottom of the pit of sadness—and craft a story that, despite the books, plays, movies, and Discovery Channel specials, you likely haven’t heard.
He’s bringing his play, “Jimmy Titanic,” to the Adrienne Theater on Sansom Street in Philadelphia, for two weeks starting Wednesday, February 27.
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's only voyage, this comedic drama takes place in heaven, exploring the lost dreams of immigrants looking for a new life, fleeing oppression, poverty, or the law--or just looking for a fresh start. Colin plays nearly two dozen characters including Irish shipbuilders Jimmy Boylan and his friend Tommy, who worked on building the Titanic in Belfast, as well as many European emigrants, a New York Times editor, and the Mayor of Belfast.
RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City, US. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,502 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in modern history.
Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced, co-edited and partly financed by James Cameron.
