The Sound of Music extends an extra week at Open Air Theatre

Following rapturous acclaim from press and public alike, the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre has announced that THE SOUND OF MUSIC will extend its run by one week until Saturday 14 September.

Starring Olivier Award nominees Charlotte Wakefield and Michael Xavier as Maria and Captain von Trapp respectively, the show has already become the highest grossing production in the theatre's 81-year history. Now in its third week, THE SOUND OF MUSIC has already taken £1.75 million at the box office.
Helen Hobson, Michael Matus, Caroline Keiff, Faye Brookes and Joshua Tonks also appear in Rachel Kavanaugh's smash hit production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's beloved musical. Featuring the iconic songs “Do-Re-Mi”, “Climb Ev'ry Mountain”, “My Favourite Things”, “Sixteen Going On Seventeen” and “Edelweiss”, THE SOUND OF MUSIC is the final production of the alfresco theatre's 2013 season, with Dinosaur Zoo ending its run on 8 September.
