What is FiraTàrrega
FiraTàrregais the international market for performing arts that takes place every year in Tàrrega during the second weekend in September. Founded in 1981, it is a great shop window of what is going on in performing arts, with special emphasis on street arts, visual and unconventional shows.
As a meeting place and an international point of reference for debate, the main objective of FiraTàrrega is to boost the performing arts market, opening the door to the internationalisation of the companies.
Other more specific objectives are the accompaniment and promotion of creations by emergent artists, encouraging training, focused on artistic creation and culture management and on generating strategic alliances to develop transnational street art circuits or productions.
The organizational structure of FiraTàrrega is lead by an Administrative Council comprised of the City Council of Tarrega, the Diputació de Lleida, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ministry of Culture.

Participation in the Official Programme

Participation in Creation Labs
The Creation Lab is an annual FiraTàrrega competition that has the objective of encouraging the production of street performances. It is intended for new artists, emerging talents and experienced professionals that are beginning a business project that is interested in producing shows for an urban setting. It is designed for companies, circus artists or creators, dance or theatre, with administrative residence in Catalonia.
The 2014 edition will show special attention to projects involving movement performances (in cooperation with Graner) and walkabouts. A maximum of three laboratories will be chosen that will have a € 3,000 grant and each will have a 2x2 booth in La Llotja de FiraTàrrega for promoting their show.

Terms of Participation
The companies that present a proposal for artistic participation in FiraTàrrega and are selected for the official programme have to accept the Conditions of Participation established by the Board of FiraTàrrega, and sign the corresponding contract.
Financial conditions
The companies in the Official Programme will receive a set amount to cover general expenses and transport.
Accommodation and expenses of the companies
Number of people
The Fira shall count as members of a company, for accommodation and board purposes the number of actors/actresses who appear in the work and a person who may attend in the role of technical staff.
Board
The Fira, through the system established by the organisation itself, will provide board (lunch and supper for the company according to the times and days of their performance or performances. The Fira does not provide breakfast.
Accommodation
The companies that take part in FiraTàrrega will be provided with accommodation in Tàrrega or Lleida depending on availability. Companies coming from abroad will have priority for lodging in Tàrrega. La Fira has its own bus service between Tàrrega and Lleida.
Technical conditions
The Fair will not provide any type of staging material or consumables (such as gelatine, lights, pyrotechnics...) nor musical or audiovisual projectors.
Fair technicians are responsible for installing the equipment and support assembly. Company technicians are responsible for assembly and its function.
Availability
The companies selected for the Official Programme must reserve the dates and be available to perform on any of the days during the Fira. Every company must carry out a minimum of three performances that initially will be distributed among the three days of the fair.
End
These “Conditions of participation” for the companies are subject and subordinate to the contract that shall be signed by the company and the Board of the Fira.
